The short answer: $8,000 to $45,000 or more
It is hard to put one average price on an outdoor kitchen, because so much depends on what goes into it. Most of ours land between $8,000 and $45,000 or more. Where yours lands depends on three things: the appliances, the countertops and the finish.
Appliances
The appliances are your choice, and we work with any brand you want. The entry-level line we use most is True-Flame. We also install Blaze, American Made, Lynx and Napoleon, and we have put in Kalamazoo, a very high-end brand. Most of the appliances we use are 304 stainless steel or powder-coated stainless, made for salt air, and most carry their own warranty. If you already have a grill in mind, tell us; the grill’s own manual also sets how close it can sit to a wall or a ceiling.
Countertops
Cast concrete countertops run about $100 to $150 a square foot. Where a top lands in that range depends on its size and what is cast into it: a sink, a grill cutout, a waterfall end or veining. Stone tops are also an option. Our concrete countertops page shows what we cast.
Finish
The face of the island can be stacked stone veneer, wood slats or wood-look panels, or a smooth finish. Stonework runs from $12 to $110 or more a square foot, depending on the stone; see our stonework and flagstone page. Underneath, the island is powder-coated, noncombustible framing, or block, stone or concrete, anchored with footings and lag bolts.
Custom or pre-fab
Most of what we build is custom: designed with you, built to your space and your liking, with no set sizes to work around. We also offer pre-fab models made of composite or polymer. Tell us which you have in mind and we will price it.
Gas, power, water and permits
We do not do gas, electrical or plumbing work ourselves, and we do not pull permits. Licensed trades do that work, and we work hand in hand with them to get the job completed. Ask us how that work is handled on your estimate. If your community has an HOA, we prepare its paperwork. Which office issues the permit depends on your address; our guide, Do you need a permit for an outdoor kitchen in Sarasota or Manatee County?, lists each one.
Is there a job too small?
No. Jason has gone out to replace a few pieces of flagstone and to make a small repair on a fireplace. The only jobs we have turned down are ones where the goal and the budget could not meet, and we would rather tell you that at the first visit than after.
How long it takes
Our jobs run from two days to four weeks or more, depending on the job. Your start date is locked in when the deposit is received, and from then on we work on the kitchen every day until it is done, apart from the days spent waiting on the countertops or stone, or on your color and finish choices.
How to get a real number
Call 941-879-4777 or send the form with a few photos of the space, the rough size and the grill you want. Jason walks the job and takes measurements, and we send the estimate, usually within 24 hours. Estimates are free, and asking for one does not commit you to anything. We warranty our work, and most appliances carry their own warranties.
